URGENT: International Appeal to Immediately End Cruel Practices Against Stray Dogs in Alexandria and Across Egypt

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please find attached an urgent international appeal regarding the reported capture, mistreatment, abandonment, and alleged deaths of stray dogs in Alexandria and other areas of Egypt.

The appeal respectfully requests the immediate suspension of any cruel practices against stray dogs, the rescue of surviving animals, an independent investigation into the reported events, and the adoption of humane, science-based stray dog management programs consistent with internationally recognized animal welfare standards.

This appeal is addressed to the competent Egyptian authorities and copied to international organizations, veterinary authorities, animal welfare organizations, and members of the international media due to the seriousness of the reported events and their global concern.

We respectfully ask that this communication be forwarded to the appropriate authorities if necessary and that a written response be provided regarding the actions taken.

The protection of the most vulnerable constitutes an immediate public duty, requiring clear, traceable actions consistent with the applicable legal framework.
